Heard of a 400 HP turbine O/B diesel that weighted 380lbs on another site. I have heard Merc is planning something along the lines of a 350xs

no actually were are going with the world products aluminum tall deck block we can get 480 cubic in small block out of it nice motor dry sumped

Let me guess:

9.500 deck height
4.125 bore
4.50 stroke
6 in rods
1.250 compression height pistons

or maybe
6.125 rods (serious park time)
1.125 compression height pistons

What kind of RPM and power are you hoping to get?

I guess CMI can make exhaust?
