These spy photos just in from a Reconasence sattelite located above Turbine Marine in Pompano FL.:D
After are Scientists have examined these photos it is apparant that. He is using the Aero,s in one photo. Pumps are above the tanks. However he has the pumps slightly below the filters. His rigging makes mine look like SH@T. |

On Shut down the T53,s have a self purge of the nozzles
combined with a combuster drain. Prevents clogging nozzles over exstended layups. It is a -4 drain. I picked up some Valvecover Puke tanks on EBAY Slightly modified them to fit. It was challanging to get them slightly lower then the combuster housing and still be able to get at them for periodic drainage. |

Gerry, Your rigging looks just fine, you have put a lot of time, effort and endless, un-thank-full work into the project and to top it off under some extremely tough weather conditions ! It's not all about the show, but ALL about the GO as RHR would say IT"S A SKATER NATION ps --- keep the pic's a-coming, thanks J ;)

Hey Gerry, did you get the 53's from TA???
I'm doing swell, slowly getting out the turbine stuff, helping Dino get his T58 boat together. Looking to sell my little T63 boat. Eric |

Old man Winter wont let go. Really have got nothing done all month. In the quest for alternative fuels to run these Turbines on. I have been doing alot of research on The differences on Jet A, Kerosene, Deisel, Home heating oil and such. In the refinery process Jet a and Kerosene are the same. However Jet a has a lite oil additive. The fuel system in the T53 requires such oil over long term use. Keorosene by itself has much less lubricating properties. Deisel and home heating oil are also the same. However Deisel you buy at the pump for your powerstroke or cummings has anti gel properties most likely a cut or mix with Keorosene. Also the fuels have different taxes on them. The refinery ads a red dye which distinguishes it from over the road deisel and home heating oil. There are also low sulfur content deisel at the pumps which burns cleaner in the comercial deisel trucks aswell. Deisel and home heating oil actual produce more BTU,s per unit compared to its lighter partners Kero, Jet-A. When your local Turbine Builder tells you...If you want to run the heavier oils (Deisel, Home heating oil.) He tells you to mix 25% gasoline. Reason for this is he is lightening the viscosity and also alowing for a cleaner burn. Now Here I go off to Geek ville for a second!! The actual molecule of Kero. and Jet A contains 12 carbon atoms. The molecule of deisel and Home heating oil contains 16 carbon atoms. By adding or cutting the heavier fuels it brings it closer to what the original T53 was designed to run at. Well thats all I got to say bout that! |
So are you just going to run Jet A and be done with it? Is that stuff hard to purchase??

Gas is even lighter then kero and Jet A. I have straight Diesel in her now. Lets face it if she runs on Home heating oil its the way to go. Dennis did you get a chance to find out what that second filter was? |
Gerry will you be there sat. Like to come up and see it

-MIke Hopefully if this rain breaks today I,m going to start the Fresh water rinse setup. I am also going to wire up the chip detectors. They are little sending units that the Turbines have that go to continiuty when they detect metal. These will illuminate dash Mounted lites indicating metal in the oil. Hopefully they will remain off. Another option I am going to add is to run a indicator lite in parrell with the 24 volt start contactors. This will be lit up when the start contactor is energized. This tells me the contactor is on (spooling the starter). In the event of a contactor sticking I will have indication. |
K gerry i looked at the forcast looks pretty decent all weekend
