There is a lot of weight in the rear (1200 LBS more than a Bravo setup) which tends to create a porpious between 70MPH and 90MPH but there are a lot of things that you can do with setup to correct it (prop selection, drive height, rotation), it won't ever go away completly. You can finess your way through it by gluing it in (negative trim) through 80MPH then agressive (positive) trim and you won't really notice it, or hard acceleration all the way through also tends to mimimize it.

The trade off is you will never break a drive, and you can run big power if you like, plus more skeg in the water, beter turning at high speed, safety. etc. It is really the only way you want to own a 32 Skater.

PM me if you want more details.

Not to hijack the thread, but aren't Arnesons a better way to go? Same surface drive, lighter weight?

Depends on a few things. I like the Arneson setup better on the 36, but there is also a 30 with them that runs very well.

More to the point, I think the person making the inquiry is looking at a boat that already has #6's on it, so the Arneson discussion is probably moot.

Is it a 32a or 32b? The 32b is alot bigger then the A model and is also 10" wider and deeper. I have had both the arnesons and the sixes in a 32b and liked them both.

I like the Arnesons on my 32B as well. Do u think the arnesons are faster then the six since you had both? You probably bought the 496 boat and the number six boat probably had bigger power, but opinion?

THANKS FOR THE INPUT, I DONT KNOW IF IT IS A 32A OR 32B, IT LOOKS LIKE A GREAT DEAL, 100MPH PLUS FOR UNDER 100K.:cool-smiley-027:

Are you saying a 32 with 2 300xs opti is the wrong choice ? Keep in mind an old 32 with 2 new 300 XS opti will go 100-105 for 800 hrs !! No IO will give you more bang for buck . Anybody know where I can find a 32 OB hull only ?
