Helm - Port or Starboard

I see some Skaters with the helm on the Port side and some on the Starboard. Is this just for the comfort of the driver, left handed, right handed or something else?

Some Skaters have dual helms. Now you really have to be confused.

Some were built as race boats and others as pleasure. Beyond that I believe the conensus will be the choice was made by the original owner.

I do know many had dual helms as race boats and were converted to single helms, port or starboard, as decided by the owner at the time.

I think most helms are on the starboard so that a throttleman can throttle with his rt hand (assuming most people are rt handed):boat:

I understand about the Race boats and duel helms boats, i was wondering about the others.

Even for a pleasure boat the same still applies .. sometimes you drive/throtttle yourself ,sometimes (like a poker run ) you might want a sep driver and throttleman:cool-smiley-027:
