I went out Yesterday (Saturday) for a few hours. I launched by seaside heights (just by the 37 bridge) and rode the Barnegat Bay over to the inlet then went back thru Lavalette and ortley and over to Silver Bay. Nice ride, Temps were in Low 60's. I hit 94 at my highest and I believe I was at 5500 RPM's. The boat fealt great, much different from the Cafe Racer I owned for years. It is amazing how if you get that "lean" and you just pop the throttle just a bit how she levels out like on rails. Really looking forward to this season.

I am excited that I am taking the Tres Martin Class in a few weeks (April 15th in Toms River) to be better aquainted in the way she handles.

It's only just begun.

The only step up for you now is a larger and faster Skater.

IT SMELLS LIKE VICTORY !!!

I have been told by a friend with a wealth of knowledge about my boat that my GPS tattle tale may have been off a bit. I probably did not see 94 @ those RPM's.

I'll be sure to take a better account of my "actual" speeds and RPM's in the next upcoming trips. Coming out of a Cafe Racer this is a whole nother animal I am now dealing with and I am excited to learn the ins and outs properly.

P.S. Thanks for your time and input today Phil !!

Pat,

I think your gps speed of 94 mph @ 5500 is correct, I was just commenting about GPS speed in general, I have seen a spike create a error to the high side. I came in one day, and hit the recall. and it showed 108 mph. I know that couldn't be correct, but the speed you are refering to, is very much in line with the RPM, 5500x32/1.62/5280x10%-/12x60= 92.5 mph, I know this boat will run around 8% slip, so the GPS speed of 94MPH is right on target.I think the math is right? I realy look forward to going out with you one day.
