its a 95 kevlar race hull converted to pleasure with 2005 280's
2009 interior , rigging , and new fuel tanks , runs incredible !

noli 01-18-2010 11:32 AM

Those 15 inch 2.5's looks really sharp. Shorter engines keep the CG lower for a better ride.

What's the fastest you've ever gotten her to run?

MS28, did you redo the interior? if so who did it for you?

Can you break down the work you've down on the 28 and by whom? Engines, Rigging, etc.

Your 28 is one of the nicest lookin' down there :)

Im interested in the same thing! theres a big following here of the 28's, people love seeing what all has been (and can be) done to the 28s...

Great work and let us know what all youve done!:coolcowboy:

I would like to do what you've done. Get a used 28 and update slowly. I've never owned a cat before though. I hear that getting insurance is hard...who insures your 28? PM me if you'd like :) ...noli

miamiskater28 01-19-2010 11:26 AM

Rigging was partially redone by STR shaun torrente ( the formula one racer ) and the interior was done by F1 interiors
the tanks , floor , and blueprinted bottom by Guardado Marine

I like how you run past your friends...

We have a 28 with 300x that does the same thing to most big block boats in the area.

activatorf1 01-21-2010 04:59 PM

I'm sure but I have a friend with 28 Skater with 300 x and really not that fast in any kind of water , flat water 115 mph , rough stuff 3-5 leave it on trailer or go slow

well as for 5 ft's i agree leave on the trailer thats not the water for anything under 32 but as for 3 ft's i just ran 103 last weekend with 4 grown men onboard & it was fine , till i tore up a sporty $ 2k later and shes good to go ! why what r u runnin 100 mph over 5ft's with ?? & since when is 115 not that fast for a twin outboard 28 ?? again what r u runnin ?? & in what ??

OL40SVX 01-21-2010 06:37 PM

Real 4-5 and you cant run that 32 Classic outboard comfortably either!! My buddy had a 28 with 300x's and it ran 121! We ran it in 3-4's when it had the 2.5's on it and it was a pretty wet ride!:D The boat is a little small for the ocean but fast as hell!

activatorf1 01-21-2010 11:08 PM

There all great but have their limitations and after riding in 28 and seeing its limited rough water capabilities I decided to buy a 32 it was all I could afford . I read many times the 28 and 32 are worlds apart in REAL rough water , not lake or bathtub flat . Time will tell and looking forward to having to fun this Summer

OL40SVX 01-21-2010 11:26 PM

To me in real rough water, the 32 is only going to run somewhat well is if it has #6's and is the newer tunnel. In the big chop to decent sized water the 32 is a bit more boat than the 28. I have been in both in some big water and the 32 with 6's is the way to go in a 32ft boat.

I guess time will tell, if your boat makes it to the river or C&D this year. Hope you get to enjoy it...

"in REAL rough water , not lake or bathtub flat "

How big is this water and @ what average speed for this lap?

http://www.standardresource.com/skat...LYING_BOAT.jpg

Doesn't look, nor did it feel like "lake or bathtub flat " 2 me. :)

And if you take a 32' out in 2-3's w/300xs's off the back there going to fall off!

I have been in some nasty water in my buddies 32 with ob's. Thing rips for its size. I will never forget passing a 37' OL with 6's coming into the New York harbor with about 5' underneath it. Pretty cool! We all had to take a shot after that poker run. I bet a 32' with 6's would be an animal!

Agreed. Real 4-5's in most boats is not a comfortable ride

activatorf1 01-22-2010 07:50 PM

That pic in I think NY is bathtub like compared to how the Chesapeake is . Hell as mention I hope I have my hunk of **** in the water this year , trailer almost done , gauges ordered today . paint the deck next week

wot 01-23-2010 07:55 AM

That's 2-4's w/rogue 6-8's; avg speed was 75, max speed was 90.
Good luck w/your boat; if you get it running Ill take a ride down to the Chesapeake bay, maybe Ill learn something.
