40 Race to Pleasure conversion

Since I cant sell my old race boat for crap.

I was wondering who do you guys recommend for the rebuild and any idea on the price.

I called skater he said 75-100k.

Lets hear your ideas.

Sounds about right I have just gone through this. The only way to do it for less is if you and some great friends, with time do the conversion. The whole project that I'm in not counting the boat will be 200+ when It's done (not all new parts), but I am not cutting corners. I did start with a bare hull, were you will probably use drives and power and maybe your dash so you can save 70 to 80 there. Hope that helps.

What size is your skater ? Mine is a 40.

Do you have any pics ?

I talked to Glassdave about your boat because I considered it a month or so ago. His ballpark to pleasurize it was alot less than 75-100. Just talking glass and paint not any rigging. Good luck!

Not a skater it's a 39 MTI. The same work needs to be done to either boat to get to a pleasure version no mater what brand or length.

Yahoo's is a little tuffer than most because his canopies are way out over the tunnels.

Was that a turn key price?? What was reused and what would be upgraded?? Just to go back all white Awl grip would cost 20-30K depending on hull condition.

No paint, just to convert it.

With a wraparound windshield.

I know where you can get the wrap around windshield with the deck register. All you have to do is cut off the quarter canopies and glass on the new register and your 90% there.

3 Piece windshield kit with the fiberglass register.

Hi Rik-
I spoke with Aero some time ago. She was helpful, but I never clearly understood if they will sell a narrower version of the wrap around with register to fit my Jag?
Thanks
Due

Carmen has three different sizes. You can get any of the three. Just tell her your measurements and see which of the three she has is closest.
