I had the tanks done in my 2002 28'er at Douglas last winter. I was shocked when I opened the inspection/ fuel pickup plate and found no baffles in the 100 gallon tanks. I did not ask Peter about it.
When I took mine up the first thing they checked was inside the tunnel on the vertical walls of the sponsons. They said if the damage was severe you would see waves there. I had fuel pressure issues and amber flakes in the fuel filter. They actually blocked the 90* fitting on the fuel pickup tube out of the tank! Sam |
Had a broker tell me that it depends on the type of construction used , not the year . Can anyone else confirm this on here ? He said it was a problem with epoxy boats , not all boats .

The general rule of thumb I've been going by with Skaters is anything from 1990 to 2006 should be highly suspect. BTW, many brokers tend to like to tell you what you like to hear. :grinser010: |

gas tanks
If you buy any Skater regardless of year and don't call Skater and check to see if the tanks are done......you have lost your mind. I don't care if it is a broker or private seller get the information from the horses mouth.
