36ft Skater with OBs?

Has it ever been done? I always loved the old 32 with triple v8 Evinrudes? How fast did that run?

36ft Skater with quad 300xs?

Your thoughts?

Baja555 01-06-2011 08:08 AM

I think Snakeman racing was a 36 w/ quad 2.5's.. Ask glass Dave I think he is re doing the boat

Perlmudder 01-06-2011 08:51 AM

The 36 skater that glassdave is redoing looks SWEET! there is a thread about it in the fiberglass section i believe..?

Really nice resto!

With that said, I would never consider OB's on a boat this size.

I far as I can tell from talking to Pete and others, a 36 skater quad outboard (Mercury 2.5's) is a first. Even though to some it doesnt make sense, to an outboard appreciator like me this is a dream boat.
Plus finding a guy like Glassdave to make it all happen has been fantastic
I'm not sure how fast it will be. It's sure going to be fun dialing it in though!

I have a poster of the boat with the speed on the back. I will grab a pic of it. Definitely a cool piece. I believe Target popped Critical Lift to make "their" line of boats.

Wasn't this the Ocean Outboard Skater, If I remember corectly I saw it race in Biloxi Miss. sometime around 1996. Didn't it have a cut down tunnel making it narrower than a regular 36'.

Snakeman was raced with triple 2.5's, saw 116 at lake x, and around 105-110 in normal race conditions.

The redone version will feature 4 2.5's sweet boat!

I thought they popped a 328?

Ryan Beckley 01-07-2011 01:36 PM

I know Ocean Outboard had a 36 with trips. Not sure if it was also Critical Lift as well. Ocean Outboard had a cut down deck...not sure about the tunnel.

I could be wrong.

I seem to remember that CL ended up in Quebec

Ryan Beckley 01-07-2011 03:41 PM

Ocean Outboard did become Critical Lift

OL40SVX 01-07-2011 04:42 PM

Target did not pop Critical lift. It was a 32 cut down canopy outboard race boat. Which one or the tunnel width im not sure.

Pretty sure Pete said it was a 328, think it was the only one done besides mine.

OL40SVX 01-07-2011 06:49 PM

I am pretty sure this is the boat that was splashed by Target in converted pleasure form.
