Parker if you are going to keep guideing the boy with all your big skater knowledge go down to Owens and sons and have him wright a check and be done with it...don't stop spending $ yet he still has some left O wise one...LOL

Sandblast your metal trailer then have it Galv then paint it . I'm about to send mine out to the galv shop
|
how much would it cost to do the galv and paint? thats a good idea. will hold up in salt water ?

I have done this several times over the last 25 years and without issue . I Do all of my own work but hot dip Galv on my 32 ft skater trailer which is around 40 ft with drive gaurd / step is 40 ft and costing me 800.00 just to dip it . By the way relief holes must be drilled on bottom so that acid can get into each tube . Once it is galv it must be scuffed and epoxy primed with base / clear or single stage , pretty basic steps

Yes the inside of each tube will get acid dipped to remove rust and then gets dipped into Galv tank , tank is 55 ft x 12 ft x
10ft deep . I live in SJ and there are few places nearby ready to do this work . I removed those old dated leaf springs and installed Torsion axles this way is a much cleaner look without those ugly leaf springs . When I deliver my trailer it will be in bare steel with relief holes drilled on bottom and once in parking lot I will remove one axle ( normally triple but for galv transport only one ) and coupler and then they go to work . I have seen one year old trailers ( steel painted ) start to rust . It is work but way cheaper than a alum one and once painted will look great . Just giving you options |
