Most 28 Skaters with the new 300XS and 15X34 3blade are running 110-111. I am spinning 15x34 4 Blade Dewalds....... 115@6,300 90@5,100. Of course I took my Skater to Shaun Torrente for set up!!:drink:

nice job Steve, are you happy with her or still tweaking ? call me when you get a few mins .

I really dont see the 250's getting much past 100.atleast with an all round setup. He is definitely loosing alot with that kind of slip.. whoever's props they are aren't working..

My good friends 28 with 300X's run 121 (GPS) using 15 x34 three blades. Not familar with Dewald props. I would assume the older X motors are faster than the XS simply because they turn more rpm. The Merc four blades for outboards are not a top end prop at least on three cats I tried them on. With 250XS motors that boat should be over 100 mph. Outboards are finicky when it comes to props and setup. Once you nail it leave it alone. I have spent many many hours making little changes to dial in outboard cats. Shaun Torrente is a very knowledable guy on Skater setups.

the X motor's are faster because they have 20 more hp than the xs..

It is new design that they use on the X Cats overseas.

That's a very unique looking prop. How long have they been in production and how many 28 to 30' cats do they have them on. I'm certainly not an engineer but that looks like a lot of metal spinning on those blades. With the sharp angle on the leading edge at the hub it seems like a lot of stress would be generated and lead to failures. That being said if it and the lower unit held together it looks like the blade would generation a lot of forward thrust. But then I could be wrong!

From what Dave Dewald has told me that design has been used on the F1 Tunnel boats for quite some time. Not sure on the number out there but he is very confident in the strength of them being that he is offering a warranty. I have run his big props on my boat for almost two years and with the some lower unit mods I have had no failures so far.

They (Dewald) have been making these wheels for around 4 years. The razor cut which is the ones Double Rigged have is a very progressive pitch prop.... on a set of 35's they were 30" on the leading edge and 35" on the tips. Makes for very good acceleration!! Part of the reason it looks like the blades are so small is that the hub is much smaller than most.
