any of you guys have any pics of race hatch hardware that is being used? I want to be able to install and remove it fairly easily if at all possible.

Not sure if this application would work on yours, but maybe you can come up with some idea similar to his. Larry would def sell you these under-the hatch and hidden stainless hinges. If you can use his design, I'm sure Larry would sell you a few. I believe the quick-release pin is hidden under the hatch, Larry would need to elaborate on this. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...ter-hatch.html . |
looks good. that may work. I have the older style rear seating without the storage compartment (seating is all the way to the stern) that's why I want to be able to take it off completely without a lot of b!thing and knuckle busting.

My old 24' was rigged with hinges on the race hatch at the stern. It had cables attached to limit rear opening preventing the hatch from hitting the motors. There were two 2x4" 1/4" aluminum brackets mounted to the inside of the gunnel with a half inch hole drilled into the center of each. The underside of the race hatch had hood/deck pins attached which inserted thru the aluminum brackets. We then pinned the hood clips to secure the hatch. Neoprene was used to cushion between the hactch and bracket. Sorry no photos hope you can understand the description.

looked at the hatch real good yesterday...it still has the pin shafts on it along with the cables. looks to have had hinges that bolted on the top of the hull vs a hidden style so that I'll have to change along with adding the "wing" plates to the hull with the neoprene cushions.
