Had my tanks done at Skater in 2008 (before eathanol). They cut the floor out, remove the old tank lid, remove the baffles, grind down the tanks to bare glass. Re glass with Derrikane resin in the glass,re glass the entire tanks, install new baffles, new tank lid, backer plate....... I am sure tons of other stuff I forgot. .....messy as hell......hell of a job......And mine had No other damage. ......some of boats that have sat for a while and the eathanol made it past the tanks, into the balsa core..... get new bottoms:poopoo:
Hopefully yours is in good shape......good luck....I would at Least call Skater and ask for their advise, on proper method.

mine went back to Douglas MI too. I just so happen to smell gas one day and found it pooled up in the port stern sponsen just behind the tank..went ahead and drained both tanks and pulled the cover to find this.:mad::mad:THANK YOU ETHANOL!!!! I went to see it while they were repairing...like he said it's not all that simple a fix.:party-smiley-004:

When I took the back seat out and took the fuel sending unit out I only had a few like 3 or 4 small prices like in your second pic My tanks don't have that smooth white look to them it's straight fiberglass and resin

Back in the day we only used 115 & 110 race fuel never pump gas where you could get ethanol type fuels. That may have helped save the fuel tanks ????

also depends on what the tank is lined with... Vinyl Ester is not suppose to decay but the epoxy tanks do. Call Peter at Douglas with HIN and he can tell you what your tanks were originally lined with.
