Great video! It looked like the perfect conditions to learn the basics of running a skater... and at the end of the vid - definitely priceless!

You will probably have a priceless look of shock when after a few hours of seat time he is pushing you to trade up to a 388.

Asit's been said before - you have a beautiful 28!

Love it !

Please give my your insight on Lake Norman with a fast ride like yours . Do you feel confined in that Lake ? Super rough and idiots on weekends ? Deep water everywhere ?

thanks
Larry

Larry
The lake is big and has over 600mi of shoreline I believe. Plenty big to run out any boat from one area to another. During the week it is very calm with little boat traffic in the afternoons. As the weekend approaches traffic is higher. You could see 1-2 chop in the main channels on weekends but you can also find calm spots around different portions.
There are some shoals but most are marked with signs.

Knowing your hometown boating ( wide open ocean and back channels ) could you boat full time on LKN if the chance to move there came about ? Or after a week or two be bored ? I ask because I have been a few small lakes in TX and after a few days it was boring . Have you ever been to the Upper Chesapeake and if so campare to LKN

you must be so proud of your son !! Hell how many 11 yr olds can say they have driven a skater @ 90 mph ? Most 11 yr olds are still crapping their pants !!

Have you ever considered EOH steering ?

I like the lake a lot but it is no means the ocean. If i lived on the LKN full time it would get small. The area is great but being in S. FL is hard to replace when it comes to boating. i have not been to the upper Chesapeake so cannot really compare. LKN is about as big as Lake Lanier in GA. I have looked at power steering but the Latham system I have really steers really easy and keeps my forearms in shape. Not to mention the extra weight in the boat.

Thanks for reply ! One more thing LKN may have 600 mi shore line but isn't most of that coves or lagoons ?
