This appears to be a very nice 368. Underpowered but lots of potential!

Ive been looking at this boat and thought it would do better than 116 with 525. is that right?

We built a 36 MTI with 525's and 6's and that was about what it ran also.

I couldn't say for sure what it should do b/c there aren't any other 525 / NXT Skaters out there in any size but I wouldn't have guessed any higher. Certainly not 120mph. NXT's aren't the most efficient drives statically or hydronamically, add a real trans as it appears the owner of TopCat did & there goes a few more HP's.

Just my $.02

Why would one do next over sixes at build? Seems like you shorten your buyer list with nxt

My guess is cost savings. If you have no intention of upgrading the power during your ownership & don't care about resale or the next guy you've certainly covered the 525 engine H.P. output mating it to an NXT.

I do not understand the NXT drive on a skater. The cost change must be very small.

MTI states the 36 and 40 run 125 with 700's. the 525 only has a 5-8 mph difference?

I called MIT for a quote. My girl looked at the MTI and asked why the seats are on the floor and seating dash area is cramped so I guess the MTI is out. Not to mention they want a large up charge for a skater like lay up.

We really don't have any MTIs in NJ.
