Yea I totally understand Dale. I liked the 308SS or 30SS designation which you and I had a slight difference of opinion on how it was derived but I understood where you were coming from on the subject. It is after all a 30 foot skater from that mold like you said. I kinda like the sound of the name now and like you said it looks nice on the side of the boat. Ha.Some of the other options were not good. 30 foot fatboy may have been best but my friends would have killed me on that one because of my so called stocky build ha. Boy they would have loved that one. Wow. Any way its getting closer every day just hope it gets here before winter. Again thanx to everyone for their interest, input and kind words during the process. It was and is greatly appreciated and if any of you ever get to Toms River, NJ please look me up. It would be great to meet face to face. Steve.

The bottom of your boat is identical to my 10 year old hull Steve, just with a wider tunnel.
Skater's marketing program cracks me up saying that this "new" 318 is a foot longer - just because the notch in the transom is filled. The first two 30 Skaters ever built had the transom notch filled, but they didn't call them 31 footers. Now all of a sudden the boat is a 31 because it has the notch filled? I'm gonna' call mine a 334, because it measures 33' 4" from the end to end! Lol You're boat is beautiful btw Steve, I really like the colors AND the graphic. There , fixed it for ya And there's a lot of boats that come out of there that I'm not crazy about the paint choices on...... Steve I have followed this thread from the beginning . You have a beautiful boat that will provide years of enjoyment ! |
Tube, Why the hate?? I know Dale pretty well and I fee all is comments are constructive. I don't think Dale has any reason to be "envious"! JMO...... Steve, We all in Skater Nation love what you are doing (speaking for myself, of course). I am a pretty new Skater owner and love making friends on this site and look forward to meeting as many bros. as possible!

Tab ,
No hate here brother. If anything just overstating the obvious . :picard1: If you want to call three paragraphs of belittlement along with maybe one short sentence of complement in the middle of the next paragraph of cut down , being "constructively helped" then well , OK , to each his own . I'm sure he really does try hard to be helpful , it's just his arrogance blocks him from doing so ... :daz: I too think Steve has a beautiful boat . Matter of fact , I think it's one of the best looking boat's I have seen in a while. I also admire his courage for betting , what , $70,000 on a yet to be "blessed by the pope" , engine package .. :flag: |
Hey All, Finally sold my Checkmate today. Think it was a good deal all the way around. Really loved that boat and had a lot of fun in her. I know its an inanimate object but its nice when you get the feeling that your old ride is getting a good home. The new owner was very enthused and Im sure he will enjoy her and take good care of her. It is in great shape just needs a couple coats of wax and she'll look like new again. Good luck to Mike the new owner and may he enjoy many days of safe boating. Steve.

Thanks Tab for questioning my motive . It give everyone a chance to see Mr. Skater call me a troll , a boat less , Skater less , idiot . Just another example of the fine help he offers.
I try and help him see that he has in essence , told a man he has a ten year old boat design. A piece of $&!z motor combination that will not run with his Opti-pops ( even though he has never even seen one in person ) Your on your own when it comes to props. Built by a guy who doesn't know what to name his boats any more. Painted be a group that has been not up to his standards as of late. No way to spin that. Those are your words. If you want , I'll go back and quote those for you. I'm open minded , show me just some of the 15 years of experience you offered in a positive manor .Instead of putting a man spending a large sum of money on pins and needles. Unlike you , I'm man enough to say when I'm wrong . |
I think that everyone needs to go the corner and take a "time-out" regarding this issue:angry-smiley-038:!

You're boat is beautiful btw Steve, I'm really envious of the colors AND the graphic There , fixed it for ya Just got off the phone with Peter he said he's sorry. In the future all size's , shapes , designations , lay up schedules , color choice , graphic designs , choice of power , delivery dates , cost's , weight , propeller choice and of course published top speed numbers will all be run by you for approval . Steve I have followed this thread from the beginning . You have a beautiful boat that will provide years of enjoyment !
