Sam you better get a light smoke and a clear! I know how you old guys have a hard time seeing :D
All joking aside I have never had visibility issues with the light smoke.

Thanks Jim here you go

The windshield receiver and dash were all custom made in house by Chris Mills and crew. The conversion is an ingenious labor intensive process which allows him to adapt the same receiver to multiple deck applications.

First the port side is fitted to the deck at the desired height, rear profile, and length. Then the Starboard side is cut down to match. They are then cut in the middle to the desired width.

This cut down of the receiver allowed us to gain enough width inside the cockpit to fit a four person bolster in the back without sacrificing walk around witdh on the sides next to the windshield.

Cool Photo timeline of the project - everyone involved should be proud of their contribution to that undertaking!

Is that the Platinum Popeye's boat off to the side in the shop in in pic#5 of your last post?

Unbelievable amount of work!! Walk around room looks great on your boat. It's really handy to have with the windshield in place. You're going to love your boat!!

Accomplishing a four seat rear bolster without sacrificing walk around room is hard to accomplish. Notice the walk around difference between the first and fifth photo above before we cut the reciever down. We wanted to minimize the vertical height and the impact on walk around space. To do this we first had to set the front bolster in the boat with the proper seat cushion hieght and distance from the kickboard. Chris made a side profile photo of the boat with me in the proper position and another photo of the uncut reciever. Next he down loaded these images into his computer and we adjusted the cut line on the boat and receiver until we had the profile we needed. We then made sure the windshield hieght would hit the front passengers in the optimal position.

He then cut a pattern which we applied to the boat for a pattern of our cut down.

If you can find the room you might consider finding a place for a cooler. Worked great in Freedom over the years. I'm going to put one under the back hatch of the 28 for those all day keys runs.

All my rigging is in front of the dash bulk head so we have the entire rear compartment free except for the two oil tanks.
