That's a gps speedo, I would expect the gps mounted on the passenger side to read similarly.

Haha! You are persistent. I'll be happy to get 110 out of these old X motors...

Thanks for the positive comments guys, it's been a fun 9 months since I got it back on the water after re-rigging it with the 3.2s. As for the Garmin GPS map speedo vs the Livorsi GPS speedo, I couldn't tell you if there's any difference between them as I've never even turned the Garmin on. I know the waters where I boat like the back of my hand (been on them since 1977 - I was 7 years old), so I have absolutely no need for the map or any of it's functions. They use the exact same technologies, so I can't imagine there would be even a .1% difference between the two. Now, if tenths of a mph mattered to me, yes, the Garmin will read out in tenths. I guess I'm sorta' old school, because needle gauges are my preference in all of my boats. I've attached a few close ups of the motors.......

In the last pic, my buddy Rick Bowling is driving it up at his place on Lake Tahoe. I was really surprised that we were able to get 100 mph out of it up there (6,800' elevation). The best Rick's 28 w/ XSs has run up there is 93 mph (stock powerheads, blueprinted gearcases).

Not saying the boat won't run 120 . Might even be leaving some on the table . I was just curious as to what his digital read out thought of the situation .
Maybe mine is the oddball but my analog speedo, a 1989 original Mercury kieff unit, is dead nuts on from 80 mph up. In cruise mode down in the 50s' and 60s' is where I find some discrepancies. Just some food for thought.

Beautiful Skater, really cool midsections, great boat. My garmin 740 drives my speedometer, so they are the same. However, once past 100 the digital reads only whole numbers, not in tenths. Congrats again, 120 is hard to get to. I lost 3 mph switching from 2011 300 XS to 2015 300 XS. Same setup. Port won't pull to 6300 like the old one. 6100 is it.
