Looking for 24' Skater input.

Hello.
I'm new here and looking at some input about the 24' Skater. I have found a hull that is stripped. Would like to know about seating. What is the best way to go? Been around other Offshore Racing boats but just not sitting down. Was thinking that some kind of suspension system would be a good idea ?

What about used seats ? Any out their ?

Cat's are new to me but I have been going fast on the water for some time . Any pointers ? Prop's ? Going to use 200 Mercury's to start with and maybe work up from their. Thinking it would be a 75/80 + - MPH ride with stock'ish power .

Thanks for the input !
Randy

2 front bucket 3 man rear bolster bench is the norm. 200's are a great motor and should get you well into the 90's. These boats really like the old style 3 blade cleavers. 14.5 x 30 is a great all around prop.

Thanks Ryan.

Have lost touch with some old friends you may know. Paul Witter and Rickey Ford. This is back in the 90's when I was doing the offshore race thing.Think Rickey used a 24'(copy Skater) and Pall had a 28' maybe also a 24' can't remember. My bad. Some Good times.

Maybe someone has some photos of the front seat system they could post ? More of a inside shot. Or, did they just us padding to do the job ? I know how hard a "V" bottom can run so I figured the seats must be different. Or do the 24' run that well ?

The old Skater seats just had thick foam, maybe about 10 inches thick. I don't think it would be worth the trouble to re-invent the wheel for suspension seats, they don't ride bad or jar you unless your doing something real crazy. You can get a back bench from Liberator that drops right in. I have Liberator front seats too but would rather have some high backs.

Great stuff ! Your drive got on the side pretty hard ! LOL

How are you doing trim ? Other hand?

About the ride. After the race were you beat up or what was your general feeling ?

Thanks ! Randy

I was throttling and running the trim, my 17 yr old son was driving.... the ride is fine, it's not a v-bottom and takes some getting used to if you are a v bottom. Remember, If it's not a CAT it is a DOG...... LOL
