@Lightspeed the all white skater with the little blue skater logo and the n.y registration #s. Is it still in New york?? My brother used owned this boat from like 2004-08. I remember it used to have 2.5 race mercs on it with the 300hp ecus. It was once a race boat from over seas. He brought it back and did a clean up on it, all new rigging , carbon fiber dash, digital speedo, gaugaes, interior ect. with tnt marine down in maimi.

The article on the Red 28 was from 1992 and mines a 1995 but they both look almost identical. OL40SVX on this forum furnished those articles to me. Thanks flightplan for posting them up. Very enjoyable reading...

Very Cool thread Flightplan
it's like a "28 SKATERpedia"...... everything you could hope for collecting info and pics of the 28 (and not just a dribble of info here and there) |
Great stuff. Here is the trouble I have. If you look at the price sheets on most of the rigging options such as props steering etc have not gone up much in cost. Now instead of spraying multiple gelcoat colors you can just paint. I know thing cost a bit more in today's times than back in the day but you would think based on those prices for hulls which I am sure back then they were still making money they could sell 28's today that you could get a base boat for a lot less than 200k.
I think if they would sell a new basic turn key model for around 175k the 28 would come back to life! Just dreaming I guess. |
