Agree with LA River completely. Blank canvas here and Mercury hopefully has already done the beefing up of the internals for some added boost measures. Just a matter of the Go Fast Boys R&D departments getting rolling.

yea but there are other production motors that put out much more. One example that would almost be more comparable to our toys would be jetskis that are putting out over 300 from a 1.5 with a warrantee. It all depends on acceptable refresh intervals.

Xcat guys will put them through some testing for us and hopefully they will let us know the pro or con facts.

Hey Guys, I read somewhere on here that there is an upgrade for the 275 Verado. Not sure what they do but it said it added 65 horses. Anybody else know anything about it. Sounds pretty good for that motor. Im sure it will filter down eventually. I would take that on my current set up gladly once the warrantees are up in two years.

I know that several shops mess with the computer and they can gain up to 55 hp. Thinking of doing that on our triple 300's on othe yellowfin.

I started this thread for a couple of reasons, one of which was to share with everyone that an unfortunate incident occurred in hopes that collectively we could express concern for the owner and occupants. Another reason was in hopes that if he had friends in the area that maybe didn't know about the mishap that they would now know and could possibly help. lastly maybe we could find out if there were any contributing factors aside from rough water that the skater nation could learn from.
The last couple of pages have turned into kind of a sh!t show and have gotten away from the original purpose. How about starting another thread for all the motor, hp, etccc etccc. |
Excuse this gear heads insensitivity TZ. Once news that the occupants were going to be fine the mindset sort of gravitated to the boat's mechanics.

Sorry about that TZ. I actually spoke with Billy today and he said he was doing great and sounded great also. He felt very lucky to get out of this the way he and his co pilot did given the situation. Already working on the boat and for those of you who know him thats no surprise. Its going to take a while to get things right again but Im sure he will be out running around as fast as his rig will carry him ASAP. Once again sorry for the distraction I believe my comment about trying the 400Rs was the one that kinda kickstarted the whole thing. Steve.
