My 30 is now going to be the boat I originally intended it to be when I placed a deposit in April of 2003 - a twin 400hp outboard cat. Had the 400hp Mercs came out back when they were rumored to be released - model year 2004 - I would've never built it with inboards. I have no regrets, as this boat still holds the unofficial title as the fastest pump gas, naturally aspirated powered Skater Pete has ever built at 158mph (or any other 25'+ cat to my knowledge). My reasons for doing this are numerous, and I already have no regrets. Pete and I have a lot of ideas to once again make my 30 different from all the others. It will get rebuilt in similar fashion to the original build - keeping weight and aerodynamics more important than form and function. I'll start a thread on it as soon as I have time, documenting the de-rig process to where it sits now - and as it progresses back at the factory.

Dale,

Your 30 Skater is an incredible boat! I remember reading all about it when it first was completed. I wish you the best with your re-rig and look forward to following it!

Dale - That's a crazy project. Can't believe you'd want to tame down that beast, but the cost and ease of operation makes sense.

Hey Dale,
Have you considered a triple 300xs's DBR Set Up! Already have one 15" motor on the 28 for the middle.
I have done a lot of calculations and according to the calculator it will be about 3mph faster with the triples and would probably accelerate a lot harder IMO.
