Just got off the phone with Mercury racing. Bottom line is that the VV7 will not support Digital - RPM, speed, water temp and water pressure on the screen at one time. Looks like I can get Water Pressure in the upper left box, Water Temp. in the lower left box, but RPM will be the sweeping analog look that really does not give much relevant data ( no numeric RPM). Ugh! You may be able to substitute Water Temp. for RPM in one of the boxes. I guess I would rather have pressure than temp and let the warning horn alert me about temp?? OR - as Ron Muller suggested, import the engine parameters onto the Garmin. I miss my VV Race! :poopoo:
I run with pressure on lower of VV7. When running familiar water and not needing charts I run the engine page on my garmin. As I said earlier it has several options for RPM, Pressure, Temp, trim, boost, you can customize with bar graph or analog gauges. Both with small digital read outs. Did you ask if the VV702 will do what you want? |

You keep your existing vessel view, add a gateway and new Garmin on the right side, add mercury analog convertor and wire to existing analog gauges. DONE no need to rework complete dash unless you want to spend a lot more money LOL. I am sure I can help with that........ Just ask Sam! |
Sam, I did ask and he said it does additional "things", but after the Mercury Racing "guy" thought that I needed engine oil temp. for my 300XS's I did not follow-up on the VV702 issue! :bong:
