The discerning approach to finding a 28 Skater that is reflected in your posts.

I bought one and changed the engines. Problem solved.

I'm not opposed to that but it doesn't hurt to try and find exactly what you're looking for... I've swapped and built plenty of outboards but sometimes it's to just buy something turnkey.

After talking to about a dozen "serious" buyers, I took my Skater 28 off the market and will just keep it. These "serious" buyers were pretty much all ready to go, cash is good, price is good, arranging travel, yada, yada, yada. Come to find out, not one of them had permission, had cash or financing in place (most have a boat they HAVE to sell first), or they had not yet graduated from High School (found out way down the line) and they think that dad ought to upgrade from his trusty 86 Bayliner.

It is hard to believe that you have not found the right boat when looking since last July. If you are looking to "steal" something, it ain't going to be a Skater 28, or about any Skater for that matter.

Probably should not have posted this, but............................................... ...

good move!!!

same thing when i listed my 308...best to just let your boating buddies/family know you would sell for right offer and let that person get in touch...if they are serious, they'll find you. good position to be in owning a skater...limited serious buyers but they are out there.

good luck to you regardless!!!

Agree! Although we have several boats, no doubt the Skater 28 is the most fun and it is something that my adult son and I do together. The "Boat Gods" must be speaking to me!

If the trailer bunk carpet had been black, I would have been interested.

But this is not quite what I am looking for.
