31ss frig, how does it work?

Ok, I'm embarrassed to even post this, but how do you turn the frig on? It's a DC only frig as I Don't have shore power. There is no button anywhere that says frig on it. I do have a cabin power and a galley power on the dash, but neither of them turn it on. Or is the frig, just not working??? Batteries are good and they are charged.

Also, anyone ever install a pump out head in a 31ss?

Generally, there's a knob inside the fridge to adjust the temp. It has an "off" position.

Yep. put the galley switch on the dash "on" and turn the knob clockwise.

Time to break out a meter to see if the fridge is getting power. Which sucks, 'cause you'll have to pull out the fidge to get to the cables :(

Back when I had mine, it worked best when it was removed!

Didn't came apart anymore LOL. Had a door made to match the others and added some serious storage. The fridge is only
half the depth of the hole it's shoved into. :D :D
Plus all the space below it.

You may need to turn on both the cabin power and the galley power switches.

I have installed a pump out head on a 35SS (Love Machines). Most Sonics already have the waste tank and a hose run to it. It's just a matter of mounting the head, "T"ing into the water line for the sink and connecting the waste hose.

This frig doesn't have a knob inside of it. Just left both switches on as you mention to try that, I'll check it tomorrow. Since the boat doesn't have shore power, I'm assuming it's a DC only frig, doesn't have a brand name on it anywhere.

Having a wast tank already in there would be great! I can see the aluminum water tank on the port side, but I can't see signs of any waste tank on the starboard gunnale. Sent an email to Sonice, but haven't heard anything back from the.... anxious to get working on this project.

Are you sure you have a Fridge and not an "Ice Box". My 35 came with an ice box that looked just like a fridge, but just an insulated box with a drain in the back. I pulled it out and put in a real fridge.

here is a pic of the ice box.

I just pulled the dammed thing out and as soon as I grabbed it and pulled, I new exactly what it was... a dammed ICE BOX! What a waste of money having put those in there!

HP2000, what frig did you go with? I'm just looking through the catalogs and I see the norcold 0051 has a vent across the top and then I'm looking at the waeco 35 which is same size with no vent, however it has the option for recessed mounting.

As for waste tank, I don't see anything in the starboard side, tank or piping.

Damm that ice box looks just like a frig!!!!
