My dock is almost ready

I have been recovering from a shoulder injury so progress has been slow on my dock. But now it is ready except for adding the rub rail.

I hope to be able to bring the new boat home by the end of the month.

I will keep you posted.

The lift is a 12,500 lb Magnum. It could probable pick yours up, but you may have to back it in! You can always tie up on the other side.

I may run my 31SS up your way next Summer for a few weeks. Where is the best place near Old Towne for dry storage?

Re: My dock is almost ready

There are very few places to dry store near Old Town. I keep my 386 in a slip at James Creek Marina in Washington, DC and I store my trailer at Harbin Marine in Lorton ,VA (about 15 mi. south of Old Town) when the boat is in the water. Fort Washingon Marina, in Ft. Washington, MD may have dry storage but that's a pretty good drive from theDC/Alexandria area. There's a ramp and a travel lift at the marina though, so once you're in the water, it's about a 20 minute run up river to the Old Town area. Several of my buddies keep their boats at Ft. Washington and I'll check with them about dry storage. I'll also look around and see if I can come up with some other recommendations for you. I assume you want to keep your boat on the trailer and splash it for every use or are you looking for a place to simply store the trailer? Let me know exactly what your plans are and I'll be glad to help you work something out.

Thanks for the info.

We just finished sea trials this week. The boat runs great!
Sonic is finishing the canvas and a few other minor things.
I am going to pick it up and run it to its new home next
Thursday. I really don't plan to ever trailer this boat.
If I come up to DC next year I plan to run it up the
Inter-coastal.

Sweet looking boat! If you come up the ICW next year, where would you be coming from? Should be a great trip...

Re: My dock is almost ready

I live in Melbourne Beach, FL. I am about 80 miles North of the Sonic plant. Actually about mile post 918 in the ICW. So that
is 918 statute miles from Norfolk, VA. It will take a while, but
I have heard it is a beautiful trip. Certainly the ICW in Florida is beautiful. Tomorrow I am going to run the boat from Stuart up the ICW to its new home.
