Loved it. It was bulletproof. Only a tiny oil leak where the dipstick enters the pan in 3 seasons I owned it. I was the third owner of the boat. Each owner had it 1 season, and stepped up to 31 Sonics. I kept it 3 seasons, and sold it sight unseen to the couple in Montana; and bought the 37AT. The motor was replaced once under warranty. The first owner over-revved it getting airborn, electronic rev limiter let go, and it seized six pistons.

I have a 2002, was originally a 496HO, but that certainly wasn't enough!

Live in Southern Maine, boat only on the lakes.

Love my Sonic, hope to stay with them at move up time.:D

Any performance increase with the exhaust?

Thanks! Sharp looking 26. I think the right detailed 496 looks better than some of the Mercury Racing options.

Thanks for asking,Hope all is well on your end.Everyone is good their all fighting for the front seat<Go figure>..They grew up with it...Anyway I still have the OL' girl as many times as I want to go bigger faster/slower-bigger--back to faster bigger,I'm going to keep her a little longer(the plan) and when I make the move...Well You Know.........IT WILL BE ALL GOOD,..Hint (New) and all the goodies... I just took the boat out today - figured it was warm enough (75) - some winter - I got wimpy after moving to FL.

I have my boat for sale but here I go again with 2nd throughts. What kills me is making payments and not using it in what in my opinoin is not enough - about 3-4 times a month.

How often do you guys justify your 800 bucks per month?

I say I spend about 1500 a month w/ payment, insurance, gas, party supplies, not even including the truck that I own just to pull it around...

I would sell mine and relaxe a little for a bit, if I thought someone would buy it, but I would have to have something else soon. :cool:

To answer your question; We try to squeeze 7 to 8 month out of the year with every sunny day that we are off on the lake...

It's worth every penny!!!! :drink: Out on the water normally Friday through Sunday every week with some week long excursions thrown in the middle, she is worth every cent. Our season up here in Upstate NY is only May through September on average too. Makes it all the more fun as I can snowmobile in the winter and Boat in the summer. There are only a couple of down months, but that is a great time to spend getting the boat all tricked out and ready for the open water. When I am riding down the trail with over 8 feet of snow out there right now knowing that I'll be getting my boat out soon is priceless. Ahhhh, I can hear that through-hull exhaust calling me now!!!! Soon!!! Fire em up!!! :D

yeah, I know... I'm originally from the Jersey Shore. not having a boat would suck, that's for sure.

I am a new member and a new SONIC owner, convertered from Fountain. Typically travel the Chesapeake Bay anywhere from Annapolis to Fairlee Creek. Home is Rock Creek in Pasadena. Love the site and the 26 posts.
