drive spacer on 358
had my 502's built to 540's, 592 hp on dyno. Hot humid day in SW Fl running 75 mph with 1/2 to 3/4 tank of gas running a 28 p bravo at 4975 rpm. The boat came with 1 inch spacers on the drives, put back together the same way.. Does anyone else have spacers on their drives, if not what prop set up do you run. Some time back i remember someone with a 358 with 525's running hydro 5 blades saying they were running in the mid 80's how is this set up working and what differences did you see with these props.

Ditch the spacer and run again....you should be able to spin a 28" higher with 560hp at the prop. Sounds like the spacer was installed later.
|
are you sure they are not shorties w/ spacers ?
|
The 358 with the Hydro's doesn't porpose as much and carries the stern better.

Thanks guys for your feedback, called down to offshore performance marine and asked them to take out the spacers before i go back down to Florida for the Ft Myers poker run, will try the boat without the spacers and see what the difference is
