26 Prowler Speed
I sold that exact combo last year and the best I saw with a labbed 26 was 63 in salt water.
26sonicmotion runs upper 60's I think with a labbed 24 and a light load. Just fast enough to be faster than me :D
Thanks for the replies guys. Is there anything that you do not like about the boat other than you wish it was bigger and faster:D
YES, I wish I had a electric head with a holding tank......Wife and 2 Daughters.......

Creeper, did you have the holding tank in your 26? If so, electric head is an easy install. Holding tank is not an easy install....
Eastcoast where would they have put the tank at?
Creeper, I heard directly from Sonic that at some point in the later 80's, all the boats were equiped with the tanks even if they didn't order the electric head. My buddy's came with porta potti, but they still installed the tank at factory as standard because retrofit is so difficult. Tank is located on starboard side, if you open the sliding panel below the driver seat and look back toward the engine compartment, that's where it would be. I had to take out the driver seat, remove the sliding panel and then get the tank in and back, it was no easy job. As I said, if you have the tank already there, installing the electric head is easy. Opt for the the larger size head as the one I ordered came in two sizes and be sure to put the anti siphon valve in, it came with my head unit, some don't give you one, but it's a must if using onboard water system. Not needed if your pumping raw water.... Great investment, don't miss having to haul out the porta potti plus they don't have much storage. My retrofit tank which came from sonic is 15 gallons, imagine factory installed is about same size as I can't see getting anything in bigger than that on the 26-31's.... Also, I cut a piece of rubber lonseal in blue to cover the entire head floor, just sliced it about 3/4 way through to adapt to the level difference right in front of the head unit. Dressed up the area nicely. I ran the one hose right out the back of the head into the rear bulkhead and the other hose I ran into the heads portside bulkhead. Made for nice straight clean hose run. Good luck, more than happy to answer any questions....

Holding Tank 'bladder'
As another option, Docmanrich37 is running this: http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...llpartial/90/0 in his 37 AT as his holding tank of the head. It works really well, but its not cheap. |
Does that bladder tank work OK with the dockside pumpout? Those hoses have a lot of suction! Interesting setup for a tight space... a lot easier to get in than the rigid type!
I'll Have to look but I do'nt remeber seeing one when I clean in there.

I have a 1998 26' Sonic (the 3rd 26 sonic built), East Coast B, are saying I may have a holding tank on the port side?
BY U BOY, As for speed, I have a 22" 4 blade, on a 502/415hp, GPS 63.3mph with a lite load, w/ a 1/2 tank gas. |
