Whats this sonic worth?
 

Can some one tell me whats this boat worth,its a 1986?sonic..I am going with a friend to buy this boat in the next day or so and would like to see what you all think before he drops the cash.
The motor in this boat is a 454 and it dropped a valve and im sure will need a new blk and so on to a big rebuilt motor to be on the safe side.other then that it is as you see it in the pics.

so are you going to have to put in a new motor and drive ?
what about the steering is it hydrolic ?
does the hull have any moisture in it ?
i realy have no idea of a $ NUMBER .
but i would say 15 to 20 k depending on how much work needs to be done .

15-20k is way too much!!!A friend of mine bought a '89 31 with twins for 30k and it was mint...that boat isn't worth over 10k and I'm a sonic owner and have a love for the sonic boats...I'd pay 8k,not a dime more.Good luck,Mike

Its a 24 ft boat and is on that trailer as seen in pics.
We will not be paying anything like what your posts are comming up with so im thinking it a good buy and are plans are to pick it up tomarrow night for sure.
Its a clean boat and well worth the buy price ill post more after it get home to my budys place.

We picked the boat up tonight and now i can say we only paid 3.000.00 for the boat and we have a pro drag motor builder inline for setting up the new motor.
We are happy and my friend being the new owner and now with his 4 boat will be able to keep the wife happy and out of the speed boats...

Again thanks for all and now my eyes are also looking for something bigger...

Be sure your builder is experienced with marine engines. Drag motors don't last long in boats.

The motor is now out and we picked up a low hours like less then 50 from a friend and it is a gen 5 big blk 454 and the same as we have.It came out of a boat so it is the same.
we still are haveing are motor builder friend go over it and it should be up and running by next weekend.
It is over all one nice sonic as it has cleaned up realy nice.funny what a wash and wax will do.
Im planning on cleanning the bottom with zipp cleaner this weekend.so ill be sure to post as we move along.
My friend whom owns this sonic is realy happy with his buy.He has been a hydrostream guy for many years and is all about going fast..and yes being safe.
I cant wait to see it under it own power....
