Steering hub manufacturer

Anyone know what brand billet hub Sonic used in 2002 on a 386 with Imco full hydrolic steering? I want to replace the hub and the piece that bolts to the dash, probably with purple.

Our 2001 358 had a IMCO hub with a Dino wheel, and our 2005 386 has an IMCO hub and wheel. The white wheel is from our 2001 and the purple wheel is from the 2005.

If what you have is functional but not the right color, why not get them powdercoated purple at a local shop?

I agree with the powdercoat idea...Chris,give me a call...I have a guy who can do it...I'll save your a$$,again.

Chris, looks to me that the polish look isn't the issue here, that wheel is way beyond her comfort zone for reach. Extendable steering column is in need! :D

Oh, no I don't know the manufacture although it looks the same as mine. I used some Mothers polish and it now looks like chrome.

Usually IMCO hub. We just switched on a new Dino wheel.

I assumed imco, but they don't show it in the online catalog.

Mike,
I'll call you soon, spending all our time taking care of a very sick 3 year old.

Wally,
The problem isn't getting her to reach the controls, its keeping her away from the throttles ! First thing she did was hit the gas, we were idling in gear, the surge made her giggle. She's going to be trouble!

GO4BROKE 12-04-2007 07:45 PM

It is an Imco piece, but no longer being made. I got a call from IMCO today, within 48 hours of emailing them, good service! The only way to change it is to buy a new stainless steel helm. I think I'll just pollish what I have.

The polished look, powdercoating would look great, but definitely more work.

GO4BROKE 12-05-2007 09:46 PM

Looks great Wally! I hope I can come close to that shine.
I may just take the part off carrboys boat, he won't notice for months :evilb:

Z06 12-05-2007 10:43 PM

Hey Chris, It'll polish quicker and easier than you would think, I probably spent less than 30 minutes and half a roll of paper towels.

Although if carrboys part looks better then you have my permission to take his, he shouldn't need it for another 5 months. :D
