31SS Hull Blueprinting

Anyone have any experience or knowledge of blueprinting a sonic 31ss hull? I would expect there is a top end performance gain. Just wondering if there are any negative handling issues associated. I have read that hull blueprinting is a good place to begin when searching to achieve optimum top end performance so I would think someone would have tried this on a boat hull that's been in production for 20+ years.

Thank you

I had my 1993 35SS hull blue printed and I think it was a waste of money, Art Lilly did it for me and I didnt see much difference!! Acuually no difference at all, The only thing I noticed is that I have to wax the bottom of my hull more!!!

Don't wax the bottem if you want speed. I wax mine because its easier to clean. The fastest bottem is one that has been wet sanded. Search the tech forum, there's been a couple threads. The only big gains to be had by blue printing is if you have a problem with the hull (hook or rocker). If it's straight, you just get the bottem sanded and the transom joint straightened. If you're pushing triple digits, probably worth it. I won't be doing it with my boat.

Don't waste the time or money and DON'T wax it either.

I wax the bottom because I spend Friday thru Sunday sleeping on the boat and it is easier to get the scum line off..

Thank you for the advice guys. I think it's a good idea to wax just past the water line to help in cleaning. However, many years ago I waxed the entire bottom of a 21 foot that had a top speed of 55 thinking I should pick up 1-2 mph and it did just the opposite, I could hardly get 53 out of it so the next week was spend taking the wax off the very bottom and the speed returned to it's 55. It was a really good wax job too! :(

yes wax it`s good but not for long time,i try Rain-X under formula 312fastech power by 502 415hp and it`s good for more long time and add 2-3 mph past 78-79 at81-81mph
