Did you get this one?? Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the Sonic Family.

rangerrick63 05-15-2008 10:56 AM

Congratulations on the purchase....You'll be happy with it....
What power is in it?
F.Y.I.....I just tested a 5 blade Maximus on my Prowler...WOW, what a difference in the way the boat runs, especially in the cruising speeds....I was sold.

what HP are you running in your 26?

rangerrick63 05-15-2008 03:01 PM

525....great package, especially with the K-planes & now the 5 blade Maximus (out of the box), really helped the manners of the boat especially in the cruise range.
I spoke with Brett at B-Blades & he does recommend labbing & some cup work, I will have that done later in the year, right now I'm just enjoying it...

What 5 blade are you running? I have a 496 with the raylar 525
kit and cmi headers and not sure what prop to use. I did not dyno but It should have 575 to585 hp. (it sure doesnt feel like it:()
I called Brett first thing this week and they have not got back to me yet. I would like to use a 5 blade also. It has a bravo 24-4 blade on it now and its driving throught it and hitting the rev limiter. I put on a 30 4blade and it would only turn 4500 rpm.
The boat felt great at mid range but would not mph. I hope Brett calls me back with some pricing and time frame on doing it. How much was your 5 blade?

I was running a 26 Bravo, & Brett recommended the 24 Mercury Maximus 5 blade, when adding the blade, you will need to drop 2 sizes. The 24 was right on, out of the box. Brett said we can get more out of it with labbing & cup work. I will be doing it, I just don't want to be without it for 4 to 5 weeks for the work. So, I am going to wait until the end of the season & have it done then.
You should get with Brett about his test period, & try out a Maximus, I think you'll be suprised with the performance. Let me know how it works out for ya....

allmine 05-15-2008 07:26 PM

yes thats the boat and it has the 496not sure on prop

I hope you share the numbers, if not would you email or I would even give you a call. I 'm running a Bravo 26' turning it 5100 wot. My motor peaked hp @ 5300 rpm. I'm interested what the five blade will do at cruse 32 - 3500 rpm. With the 26 I'm around 47 -50 mph at 3800 depending on tides and winds.
