Does anyone have a flowscan or similar device for measuring GPH installed?

My wallet tells me

I always figured if I had to worry about fuel that bad I need to pick another hobbie.

Have one installed on my 42, I love it, it lets me put back what I burned in a day or weekend without any guesswork. I have had it for about 5 years and have had very little trouble. I know what I burn for any destination so I can plan my trip better...just my opinion as always..

Which model do you have and how hard was it to install? Do you have to put a sensor in line between the tank and fuel pump or do they have one that pulls info off the engine computer?

I have the Twin Scan model which registers both port and starboard moters in one gauge. The sensor is mounted between the fuel tank and the fuel pump. This way you get a real reading on what is going to the moters.. It gives you gallons per hour for each moter and total gallons consumed.

I have the same since last fall. Still trying to figure out if or how precise this tool is. Will know better in a week since I'll add up my last 3 fill up... seems pretty accurate up to now.

Reason for this his what atretchinnout said, plus, it tells me in what RPM range it is the more ''economical'' for long range travel.

Great for knowing what fuel you have burned. Fuel gauges are just not accurate. The Floscan are the best in my book. Even put one on my motorhome so I know when to refuel or how lone to push it. They have been used in the airline industry for years. And they don't run out of fuel. They can be fine tuned very easly and can be deadon in many instances. Well worth the investment to get the most out of a tank.

Sonicator! I just came back from filling up from my last ride at the 1000 island run.

In reality, I filled 95 U.S Gal at the pump. Not sure the trailer was parked on the exact same angle it was last time I filled up so this may explain a slight difference in the flowscan readings. The flowscan reads 91.2 gal burned, so that gives a 95% accuracy on the reading, maybe even more if I had filled at the same gas station, same pump, same spot on the ground... I never yet tried to adjust the flowscan.

So yes it is accurate, it will tell you your best cruising speed to be economocal, and you won't like me run out of gas 2 weeks ago from a false reading of the mecanical fuel guage...
