Insurance

How much are you guys paying for insurance on a 31?

GO4BROKE 09-17-2008 07:41 PM

My old 31 with state farm was around $750. 100K agreed value, 500K liability.

niceguy 09-17-2008 07:57 PM

gonna depend on where you live and previous experience... a few other factors, but location is the biggest. I live 30 miles from the coast and mine is expensive IMO. if you want to know figures, pm me.

45sonic 09-18-2008 07:21 AM

Location, driving record, past history (claims etc.), now they are even looking at credit scores, age of boat, trailered/dry racked, or in water, speed, engine size, your age, and who knows what else.

Jim Diesel 09-18-2008 09:45 AM

My problem was age and the power the boat has, $1200 year.

45SS 09-18-2008 10:31 AM

I used to own Jim's boat. I paid $980.00 a year. 45 Sonic is right they are asking all those questions now, and don't dare get caught trying to bluff them. If you make a claim and they find false info they don't have to cover you. Mine is $1300. on a 45.

bigboat28 09-18-2008 01:05 PM

Jim where are you getting 1200 I am getting quotes for 1800-2800? I have clean record, no claims, 40 and previous experience.

bigboat28 09-18-2008 01:06 PM

45SS who do you use?

Check with East Coast B here in the Sonic section. He has a 31 and was talking about a cruiser or maybe a larger Sonic.

PROMAN 09-19-2008 03:01 PM

Try Eastcoastb He Is Selling His 31 Looking For A Cruiser. Maybe You Two Can Hook Up.

03 SONIC 09-19-2008 04:44 PM

I sold my prowler and bought a 2001 382 Formula. I called wakezone they quoted me $2200 a yr. I then called wozencraft and spoke with Jamie. She got me same coverage for 1300 a year and was very easy to deal with. I highly recommend them the best cust service i have had in a long time.

bigboat28 09-21-2008 10:12 AM

Anyone know Eastcoast's number or email? My number is 740-817-2245 email [email protected]

Appreciate everyone's help here, but we're not ready to pull the trigger just yet. We're still trying to figure out if we can get land and put up a storage facility at Raystown lake and tow bigger or will we have to go route of going bigger cruiser and keeping it in the water.... Haven't been getting much input from our Realtor out there.....

bigboat28 09-22-2008 11:50 AM

East Coast what size motors are in your boat?

You guys with the LOW isurance rates what size motors do you have?

Jim Diesel 09-22-2008 02:00 PM

I have 500 EFI's

bigboat28 09-22-2008 02:32 PM

Jim you have 500efi's and you are getting 1200, the lowest price I have got is 1985 for 575's, do those engines make that much of a difference in the premiums? I am 40 years old. I used to have a 1999 28 Pantera with 502 mags and only paid 350$ a year I think.

Jim Diesel 09-22-2008 07:13 PM

I have no clue why its so high for you. Im 27 and a clean record. My 25 Outlaw I had before this was $750 496ho...

exmark31 09-22-2008 07:53 PM

Bigboat28 I have an 02 with 496's and 35 years old. I use state farm and is only 680 per year.

45sonic 09-23-2008 07:48 AM

A lot of the difference is how long you have had boats insured and if you have any other insurance coverage with the company. I have had my insurance with the same company for over 15 yrs. Also some companies are cracking down on what they are insuring so getting new insurance could be a lot more expensive than if you maintained insurance for a long period of time.

bigboat28 09-23-2008 10:20 AM

Called State Farm, they wont do it. 45SS would you want to give me your agents name and number and let me give them a call to see what they say, or anyone else with State [email protected]

go propless 09-24-2008 05:15 PM

Bigboat28 I also use State Farm for my 97 31SS with 502MPI's I have $500k liability and $75k replacement It runs me 1026per yr.

I have a 03 with 500efi's.750.00 with 1000.00 deductable. With State Farm..When we first went with State Farm they would not take boat unless they insured my house also.At the time it was more for the boat..Now five years later it cost more for the house.

45SS 09-25-2008 01:52 PM

You need to use an agent in you area. My girlfriend keeps one of her cars at my house in the garage. I asked my agent about insuring it. They told me it has to be insured in the state of registration, or with the boat the house you live in.

bigboat28 09-25-2008 09:12 PM

45SS already tried the agent here and they said they wouldn't do it, to many hp and to fast:mad:
