Sweet, :drink:

Looks great Brian! Must be a little more fun to drive! What options? Are you going to trailer it or keep it in a slip?

bn 06-28-2009 08:07 PM

Definitely more fun to drive! It has 502 MPI's, A/C, electric head, etc. Plan on trailering it.

How do you do A/C in a 31ss? Is it an addon for the cabin? Who makes the unit? Does it do Heat too?

Thanks,
Matt

Its an option from Sonic and is put under the sink, the unit in my boat is a Cruisair and is A/C only.

BN, what was the make and size of your cruiser? Knew you sold the sonic, didn't know you got into a cruiser... We moved to a cruiser, giving it a try...

Your old 31 paint job is still my favorite!!!

Congrats on new boat!

Congrats on new boat!

We didn't have anything for a couple of years, then we bought a 2003 Rinker 270 FV. Nice boat, great layout, but could't stand having a single and it wasn't very easy to haul around. We decided that we weren't quite ready for a cruiser yet.

Yes, that paint job was our favorite too, but we have plans for this one.

djmaddmatt If you choose to add air, I would measure the comparment and shoot for the 6500 BTU. I had a 31 w/ac down here in Va. the factory (5000) had a hard time keeping up in the middle of the day,it did fine in the evening after it cooled a little. With the 6500 BTU you can get reverse cycle heat and a programable thermostat. It's a few hundred more but after having both I feel it's worth the money. I have 12.5 BTU reverse heat A/C in the 45 you can use it for a meat locker in the summer and the heat will run you out in the cold fall days.

GO4BROKE 07-02-2009 10:36 AM

x2 for the heat an programmable thermostat. Well worth the money.

jeff32 07-02-2009 11:46 AM

so I guess I won't go cruiser then,,, seems like everyone goes back to sport...

Here's Johnny 07-02-2009 11:52 AM

My thoughts are you can always cruise in a go fast ....(Sonic)..... but you can't go fast in a cruiser...... so the way I look at it I have the best of both worlds.......

and nice ride BN........

45SS 07-02-2009 03:33 PM

If you want a Sonic cruiser hang the arch and run the bimmini back to the arch and tie it all together, Instant go-fast cruiser.

Thanks Bill! Bruce said that they are in the process of moving the factory. I wanted to order new railing pads for the cockpit, but they said it will be a month before they can make them.:(

Anyone have 4 red and 4 yellow pads they want to trade for 8 purple ones?

Do you have a model number on the 6500 that would work in a 31SS?

45SS 07-09-2009 10:49 AM

The pads for the rails. You will have to measure the distance between the posts (all of them) call Bruce and give him the info and he wil have them made. They were about $30.00 a piece.

GO4BROKE 07-09-2009 04:54 PM

You do have to measure. The pads for my 386 are larger than my 31 were. Have them made locally, you won't have to wait.

Chris, do you do know someone that makes them locally?

GO4BROKE 07-09-2009 08:37 PM

It's been a while, but there was a woman about 5 miles east of the boat house on rt.49 that did interior vinyl work. I don't remember any names. Had a small sign out in front of her house, north side of the road, did good work. But thats 10 years ago.

Found this place with google

djmadmatt I google searched it and came up with a bunch of diffrent models. Alot I have heard of, they have really good deals out there right now. They also have diffrent option packages on the thermostats. One company will show you the installation instructions online.
