Default New Power for the 31ss

Thought I would create a thread (for anyone interested) about the new motors I am building for the Sonic.

Gen VI blocks 0.030
Eagle Rotating assemblies 4.250 stroke
10.5 cr
AFR cnc'd 315's
Bob Madara hyd roller cams (big and nasty)
Morel High Rev. lifters
MerlinX Intake
Pro-Systems Dominator

My Lightning headers will be here next week (all SS) with 4.5" dry exhaust.

Will be dyno-ing in the next 10 days or so, so I will keep this thread posted on the results.

The next step will be getting BBlades to correctly prop the new power and we'll see what the old girl has in her!!

Sounds great. Good luck with the project! You will have to post a video so we can hear them rumble.

Your sonic sound really good before with the HP500's with Gil dry exhaust, but soon to be better...

I took a ride on it a couple of years ago with the original owners, nice couple, and now a niceguy owns it.

Sounds great--too bad I didn't know you were looking to build, have a brand new Gen VI short block with the same rotating assemby assembled and one that is not assembled I am selling. Could have saved you some $ if you wanted to go a little bigger to a 496.

What are you doing with the HP500's?

One of them basically welded itself together. But in all both motors were parted out and I ended up only re-using the blocks, timing chain covers, and rocker arms. Everything else is new and improved.
