It'll do it....your palms will be sweaty when you get where your going!!

(I pulled a 31 Formula behind a 3/4 Suburban with the 6.0 for a coule summers.)

I have a 2500 Avalanche with a 496 and just towed my 88 30ss 900 miles from wisconsin to ny and it worked my truck pretty good I wouldn't have wanted anything less for that type of distance but the denali should be ok for short trips just keep in mind the factory rating was only like 8000 pounds

My 2003 31SS weighed exactly 10,000lbs with 1/2 tanks of fuel on a CAT scale including the aluminum trailer. The '03 and up boats are supposed to be lighter. How much lighter, I'm not certain. I pull mine with a 2500 Suburban 6.0L. It can do it, but it's definitely a struggle to accelerate. I upgraded the brakes on the truck and installed all new trailer brakes to be safe. It also has a Wester's Garage ECM tuned for towing. I pulled the boat 1350 miles home from CT when I bought it last fall and put another 1500 miles on this summer without any issues.

I don't know much about the '05 Denali XL. But, it shows up as a 1/2 ton truck. While the engine may have the power to pull 10,000+ lbs., I don't know if the rest of the truck is up to the task. Do you know which transmission you have?

6.0L will pull it just fine, but you will be depending on the trailer brakes to stop decently.
Get a dually. Then you will be ready for the next (bigger) boat too. The brakes on the dually can stop the load even if the trailer brakes fail. My '01 6.0L dually was able to stop both my 31 and my 386 (around 14K pounds) when the brakes failed on the trailers.

When I first bought my 31ss I had a 2500 Suburban with the 6.0l, pulled decent. I just knew I was going to wear it out so I ended up getting a 2500 truck with a Duramax.

Congrats on the new purchase...
