358 Weight??
I am sending my props in for work and on the specsheet they need to know the weight of my boat...... anyone have any idea what a 2002 358 Diablo with 575 sci's would weigh ? According to the Sonic website a new 358 weighs 8400lbs without engines..........

That's close enough, take into consideration fuel, water and junk.

Thanks 45SS.....

I'm sure that 8400 includes power. My 386 is 9000.

I remember it being 8400lbs dry with engines. I have some old catalogs I can check. Will post if not 8400lbs.

I see what your reading, but have doubt. If anything the 8400lb should be even less since the invent of the vacuum bagging process. Nada even shows 8400lbs for the 358... Shoot an email to sonic, check with Bruce there. I believe their current literature to be wrong... Again, Bruce will be able to definitively answer this question.

That cannont be correct. I spoke to Mark Bently (when he was a dealer for Sonic) a few years back. He said Jay Ross and he took a 45SS 3-500'S a generator, no water, a 1/4 tank of gas weighted 12,080 LBS. on the scales at lake X. I believe that a complete engine and drive package weights somewhere in the 1,300 LBS. range.

Checked the 2000 literature I have from the sonic catalog/brochures and it is 8400lbs for the 358 model. That's dry weight...
