WTB 35'-38' Sonic

Since the deal fell apart at Lab Marine I am back looking for a Sonic. I have found a few but want to see all that is out there. I have looked at boat trader and yachtworld. Can purchase ASAP and will wait for the right deal.

Sydwayz 01-10-2010 10:07 PM

Price range?

89scarabIII 01-11-2010 08:28 AM

There is a nice 42' at yachtauctions.com for 45k. Great deal.

mbccenter 01-11-2010 02:05 PM

I would like to be under 60k

There is a 42' at Shogren that is a better deal then yachtauctions but I am thinking that is just to big of a boat for my wife and I.

Sonic Steve 01-12-2010 04:58 PM

Looks like this may be a nice 35 with fresh power for under 60,000.

If we are thinking of the same Sonic, you are correct. Its spotless, shipshape and needing a good home.

Thats great but no one is giving me any info on it yet:lolhit:

paulb32 01-15-2010 10:26 PM

45Sonic -are you talking about the 97 or 98 white with the teal stripe that was for sale last fall? Had tweaked 502's?

GO4BROKE 01-16-2010 10:05 AM

Once into one, Fountian SC's are hard to get out of. Kind of a limited market.

Do you mean hard to sell? The seem like they have the best of both worlds with speed and room. I did find one with twin 780 hp engines and that sounds like fun. They have room for 2 more in the cockpit which is nice but the outside of the Sonic is much better looking.

I have owned my last fountain for 10 years so I want a boat I will be happy with more than resale.

I would prefer the right Sonic but I just don't seem to be finding it.

Sorry, I thought 45 was getting the info for ya.

1998 38 sts. He is asking 68k.

Motors are 540hp 502's (carborated)

I'll try to get some pictures posted. Or have the seller send you private message.

GO4BROKE 01-16-2010 03:50 PM

I was told by 2 dealers that they are slow to move. I don't think as many performance boaters are interested in them as the lightning models. Its a boat I would probably consider, as would a lot of Sonic owners as cabin/amenities/overnighting are important to us.
A 386 has much nicer lines.
And if looking for a bigger better cabin, I would prefer Black Thunder (love the 46EC)

Don Johnson and those stupid pastel jackets ruined an entire generation of boats. Pinks....pale greens....violets..... ack :lolhit:

Why did this deal fall apart??? Please share?? I have had mixed feelings about dealing with lab marine, but would love to hear another opinion? Their asking price is less than your range??

97 35ss

i have a 35 ss that is currently in storage for winter. has 480hrs on two 502 mpis and the vst mods have been removed and replaced by the previous owner. has no arch and killer stereo i just put it in last summer mp3, all jbl speakers kenwood head unit, infinity 5 channel amp. K planes, drive showers, silent choice, shore power, no microwave, pump out head, sink, fridge, ect.

i have only owned this boat for a year, not even and i do not have the time to use this boat.

there are some minor repairs that need to be done. i have never used the pump out head. it is still full of anti freeze. from the previous season. i have never used the water holding tank either still full of antifreeze too.

i currently would like to get 50k obo out of this boat. i just would like to get rid of it to someone who would use the boat and enjoy it. have other priorities that need my attention right now.

pics i can email to who ever just ask. i have to go snap some first in the storage unit.

Comes with triple axle aluminum i beam trailer, bunk type w/ brakes.

comes with bumpers, anchor, lines, and life vest. everything needed to go boating. fuel tanks are 3/4 full too.

if you would like to talk my phone # is 9892809816 names john.

Thanks for the post and anyone else have a 38 or 42 with twins for sale under 70k?

Sonic Steve 02-01-2010 09:41 PM

Try Shogren he has a 42 for under 60k.

mbccenter 02-02-2010 08:45 AM

I do like the 42' at Shogren but I wanted to stay between 35-38' on mine. I have found a alright deal on a 38' but does require some work.

45sonic 02-02-2010 10:40 AM

I've got both a 35 and 38. Older models but in good shape with trailers and willing to negotiate

The 38 is fandango's who has all ready responded on here. The 35 is not listed on here

Still don't have any info or pics on any of them. Can e-mail them to [email protected]

The little info on the 38 did not sound bad but no other info????

The best deal for me so far has been a Fountain 38' SC. I like the sonic but just not finding any for me.

paulb32 02-13-2010 11:37 PM

Fandango,
Do you have photo's & info or contact info for that 98-386? If so please pm me or email me at [email protected].
Thanks

mbccenter 02-14-2010 11:51 AM

I have been waiting for weeks. I still have not recieved any info on the 386

356 Diablo

Not sure if anyone is still looking, but I have buddy who is pondering the sale of his 356 Sonic with twin 500's. boats paint is in great shape, its mainly yellow with purple tiger like graphics, it was the miami boat show boat when it was built, i think in 99, but need to check on that. The boat is in great shape and has everything. drives look like there brand new, and had new upolustry (SP) done about 1 1/2 yrs ago. PM me or email me at [email protected] for pics and more info.

paulb32 03-06-2010 08:28 AM

LordStanley or anyone,
Mentioned was a 98 maybe for sale -was that a mistake and is the 97 just added to oso classifieds the one you are speaking of? Or is there another 98 that might be for sale yet?

mbccenter 03-08-2010 07:18 AM

Well I am not in the market anymore because I am on my way home form picking up a Donzi 38zx. I tried to buy a Sonic but no one ever got back to me with any details. I am very happy with the Donzi because it has cabin room like the Sonic.

fandango 03-08-2010 10:35 AM

Just curious. Do people not put phone numbers on their ads?
