Prop Help
 

Going to put a new prop on the prowler after all the work. Who knows best prop for 26 prowler with stock 502 and b1? I really would like an education on pitch and blade if anyone has the knowledge to share. thanks for any help.

I had 24 4 blade on mine with a 496 and it was great.

I agree with the 24 Bravo I but my recomendation is to use a left handed. It takes away the listing to port at lower speeds by conteracting the engine torque. You'll just have to change around the cable at the controls. Fountain, Formula and Velocity run leftys on there singles, it's a secret so don't tell anybody :drink: Steve

My 99 came with a 22ptich 4blade bravo when I bought the boat. That was the original prop from the factory. with the 22 I was running 5000rpm and doing about 63-65. Half to full tank of gas and full water tank.

The motor was stock 502 with stock cast iron Manifold and risers. Along with the silent choice exhaust mufflers.

I put on a set of EMI thunder mainfolds, Stainless risers and removed the silent choice. Also threw on a K&N air filter.

Just that little change forced me to go to a 24pitch bravo 4blade. I was hitting the revlimiter with the 22 pitch prop.

The boat is a few MPH faster, but nothing major.

Its usually 2 heavy to see high 60's. I usually have 1/2 to Full gas and full water tanks. Plus all the crap my wife thinks she needs to bring.

Thanks for all the info. I dont know about changing to lefty. If I find a lefty for the right price it might not be a bad idea.

what prop do you have on it now?

you may want to try a 24 bravo1 labbed prop?

mirage plus 3 blade 23p, WOT 5100 RPM, 58.6 GPS. These numbers came from the first run after the rebuild (only left it there long enough to wind up and get steady number). I have put ten hours on it since then, still running great, its a different boat than it was before. check out my rebuild post.

I know it needs a four blade. I want to see 60's and have more control. I would also like to see the WOT RPM's come down. That kind of RPM's with a 4 inch stroke makes me nervous on long runs.

Ya, we run a labbed 28 Bravo1, we tried several props and we liked it the best. We are in the market for a used labbed 30 Bravo1. Congratulations on your Prowler! We love ours.

Tony, we haven't seen your new bigger ride yet, maybe this summer if all goes well, you may not recognize me my long blonde hair that was below my butt is gone, but I'm not sporting the kojak look anymore, thank God.

The SonicBoom is still running good, a solid 80, plus some give or take on conditions and how much screaming I am doing at my darling husband "slow down" over and over.. when he's trying to get the trim just right......We are still running are original 98 Bravo outdrive as well (I'm knocking on wood as I type this)..
We haven't boated much at all the past two summers, as I (Missy) got diagnosed with stage 3, rapidly growing extremely aggressive cancer at the ripe old age of 40. So, between operations, chemo, radiation and more operations..... not much boating going on. But God willing we will back this year, and hubby David is looking for that labbed bravo1 30 to try, it just has to be reasonable priced, caus that damn cancer is expensive.....................

Hi Guys, I've been wondering where you've been, sorry to hear about your cancer Missy, hope things are under control and heading in the right direction. Tony's been somewhat of a recluse, not posting his usual funny posts :lolhit:. My boats been running "well" into the 70's for a long time but we came to the conclusion that we need a larger boat for the water we run. We ended up trading it in on a 33 Active Thunder which should be ready in June, looking forward to the summer.
