Are Sonic boats high maintenance

I was at the lake yesterday and while talking to someone I mentioned that my next boat was more then likely going to be a 35 sonic. He then started talking about Sonics being high maintenance boats. Is this true?

I would have to say no, not at all. I have owned two Sonic's so far, sold the second yesterday and I am going to prob upgrade to another. I went on many Poker Runs in some pretty rough cond. and never had any probs.

Only maintenance I ever did was the regular cleaning, waxing, and empty the crap tank.

I did have to change a trim tab motor once but that wasnt Sonic's fault.

Hope this helps

When we are in Ft. Lauderdale we charter a guy who has a 38' Sonic. He puts hundreds of hours on this thing and he knows only WOT or idle. He's really hard on it! And it's still in one piece. I figure if he can beat the hell out of that thing like he does, my kind of boating would be a cake walk for a sonic. For this reason and the cabin layout, plus the great ride, we are seriously considering the 358. Going for a demo ride next weekend... Can't wait!!!

May be the guy was thinking of the old Tri Sonic cabin crusers.

maybe he was talking about his wife being high maintenance.....all boats are work but its worth it!

No more so than any other boat, and I would say that the majority of Sonics are less work than others.

John - you will love Tome's - I think there were only 7 spots left last week when I brought the Cigarette down. My boat is in the second building on the second shelf. Talk to Wes - nice guy.

How was the boat show?

No i dont think sonics are high maintenance. My bosses 1990 34ss is in excellant shape i am thinking about buying it myself. Just waiting to hear from the bank. the only real work he has done to the boat was fix some stress cracks and changed the rub rail. And he also swapped the 454s for 502s last year. I my opinion they are awesome boats. just my 2 cents

You will Like Tome's very nice people and top notch marinia to deal with. They service my Crownline for me, still waiting for a ride on there Sonic. I understand there getting in a 35 and a 38 for demo's.
