All sonic owners are welcome, not just us New York based. Canada, PA, NJ, OH, MA, you are all very close by and we would love to have you at the event.
Since my 38 foot Top Banana was the granddaddy of the 42 Sonic, I was hoping to hop on with a 42 owner if possible. Thanks for considering it. PS....By the way it only took two years for that "other brand" with their new model, the 37.6 to beat this boat.....oh yes, they renamed the model from the 37.6 to "Top Gun" |
Charlie-If there are no 42's, you can hop on my 386.

Can you make it as exciting for me as Joe did in the Around Long Island race with his 30 footer??? Keep me posted on the selected date and location. |
How many would attend an event on Sunday August 14th following the Buffalo Poker Run. This way we could attend a major event, that is very reasonable along with meeting up for a Sonic party. I know of a few Sonics that are already attending the run and this way we could get a few more boats from OH, PA, and Canada.
I was trying to get Sonic involved with planning something but I have not had much luck getting a response. So if anyone has any connections give them a call. If we can get something planned, I would love to host something at one of my boat clubs after a day at beach or rafting up. We have great waterways for any boating condition. http://powerboatingwny.com/poker_run.html |

I'd say that decides it. We will do the Sonic get together on lake erie in Buffalo the sunday after the poker run, August 14th.
Charlie, I doubt it will be that exciting, but it will be a lot of fun. We had some 3-4's on one leg of the run last year, the 2 sonics (38 and 31) smoked everyone, except a top gun with bigger power, by about a mile. |

"Got smoked by a Top Gun with bigger power"...hey someone must have been backing off on the throttles on the Sonics. LOL Check out Youtube. Put into the search engine Bushmills 1979. That is the granddaddy of all the big Sonics...38 to 45s. A 37.6 finished second to me a mile back. That 37.6 was the first Top Gun ever AJAC HAWK...and they had some guy by the name of Saccenti on the throttles. Looking forward to the get together Aug 14th. Thanks for including me. Charlie |

Charlie,
I doubt it will be that exciting, but it will be a lot of fun. We had some 3-4's on one leg of the run last year, the 2 sonics (38 and 31) smoked everyone, except a top gun with bigger power, by about a mile.[/QUOTE] UH......ummm.....yeah, that's how it happened. You must have never seen the 41 Apache then.:lolhit: Oops ! My bad, you were talking about the slow group. Carry On !:evilb: |
Your kinda right KellyO. I saw that apache briefly at 1 stop. Never saw it again! I think he was running a lot farther north, I forgot about him you're right.
If I remember correctly, during the roughest leg, it was me, Tony, and the cig, by a LARGE margin. Then 1/2 way to that card stop it layed down a little and all of a sudden just about the whole fast group came rockin by. We don't get to be fast often, but its fun while it lasts. |
I knew that comment would generate some attention!:lolhit:
|
And as Tony reminded me, we had a head start on the fast group for that leg.
|
It was need the card stop that I noticed the fast boats catch up. Yes they started from a different gap more north. All I can say is we got a great start in the rough **** and had great fun running the lake. I have pictures and video showing we where there with little company. Many guys where telling me they got beat up. Not the case here. It was great Sonic water.
|
Sorry, did not mean to start trouble. Did a search of forums earlier today for "Buffalo" and saw the post. Can't wait to go back to this great event. Last year the lake was a blast !
Sonics are great boats and I hope many attend that we can all run with and admire. See you all in August, or maybe sooner at another great NY event.:drink: |
What! You're not on this forum every day! Unthinkable!:lolhit:
No trouble, other than the damn snow on the ground. |
Date Picked for a Buffalo Event.
I am planning a Sonic event on Sunday August 14th following the Buffalo Poker Run. This way we could attend a major event, that is very reasonable ($180) along with meeting up for a Sonic Event. There are many Sonics already attending this run so we should get a great turnout. If anyone wants to help plan or has any ideas just message me.
I have many options for a dinner or party after a great day of boating. We have great waterways for any boating condition. Attached is the link to the Buffalo Poker Run http://powerboatingwny.com/poker_run.html |
Running Count
I was told there are 4 Sonic paid up for the Run. Will anyone else be making the trip? I am trying to figure out how many we will have for Sunday August 14th.
|
Is anyone else going to make the trip? The Poker Run should be a blast there are 40 boat pre-registered with about three weeks to go. I am looking to get a count how many Sonics will be attending so I can make us a reservation for Sunday for the group to hang out. Let me know if you are going to make it and if so how many people you will have. If you need info on the Poker Run visit the website www.buffalopokerrun.com
|
Looks like a good time and thing you guys have planed, we have 5 sonics pre-reg for the 2011 Swamp Run for July 30th, I will pass this event on to the owners the day of the run. Have Fun.
|
Hope some of you can make it.
A little over a week to go. Hope we get some last minute boats to join us.
|
One more sonic registered for the Poker Run today. So add another to our Sonic event.
|
