I was wanting some details on replacing my rubrail on my 2000 358. I was thinking of trying to do it my self. Does anyone have any experience or info that could help? Thanks

Backing?
I think I payed around 350 to 400 for the insert.. What I was really wondering about was how difficult is it to install the backing as far as bending the plasic backing around the bow and if it just screwed to the hull or is it bolted with nuts on the inside and if it is bolted how hard is it to get to the nuts ect... Thanks

The backing is screwed in from the outside. Remove the insert and start unscrewing. As far as bending it around corners, heat gun is the only way.
As far as installing the insert. Laid it on the driveway in the sun for a couple hours, removed the old insert, then with help ( yes, you will need a second person) start on the center of the transom and work your way around the boat back to your starting point. Leave it overlaped for about a week or so while it shrinks then cut off the excess. We used Simple Green cleaner as a lube, worked great. Took about 1 1/2 hrs to do a complete 45 Sonic
