Prowler Stern Question
Probably been asked before but new Prowler owner and inquiring minds would like to know.
What is the purpose of the recessed keel on the Prowler? Other boats owner ask me the question and I have no answer. Ed |
Its called a notched transom. It provides cleaner (less tubulence) water to the prop, and also a shorter running surface for more speed.

Speed is something I'm a little disappointed in with the Prowler, although, I did not buy it strictly for speed. With 22P B1, no tab, outdrive trimmed for max speed/max RPM , me and the squeeze, 80 gallons of fuel, 10 gallons of water and 8" to 12" chop the best speed I can get is 58 MPH GPS @ 4900 RPM. Is this normal? Ed |
