Aluminum Exhaust Manifolds ?

Anyone using aluminum manifolds on a 502?

What are the pros and cons?

Looking to replace mine on my Prowler next Spring.

From what I have read they seem to flow better, weigh less but corrosion from dissimilar metals seems to be an issue.

Looking for experience opinions.

pros...There a lot lighter and the ports are bigger so you get more air flow = more HP and they look good...cons, there are none if any thing cost i guess.

Thanks for the feedback. I was looking at the Moore Performance manifolds. They are advertised at $229.00 each; the same as iron manifolds.

Yeah, and that has me worried about quality. Most other aluminum setups are a grand or better but they include stainless risers.

Moore's manifold and 4" riser kit is $669. I'm not sure if that is an all aluminum kit. From what I read putting iron risers on aluminum manifolds is a no-no. But the manifolds bolt to an iron block. I understand the dissimilar metal issues but I guess I'm confused about the risers!

Am going to do more research and talk with Moore before I buy.

I would go with CMI E Tops.

I went with Revolution Marine for aluminum manifolds and risers on my 26 Prowler, 502-425hp. Slight increase in performance but it took almost 75 lbs off the back of the boat. Aluminum manifold and riser was an exact fit. No modification was necessary to any other components - simply bolt on.

That looks like a good product.

Do you have Captain's Choice?

Yes I do. They bolted on just like OEM manifolds. No modifications had to be made to the oil filter mount, brackets, etc.
