Labbed 28P Props

I'm selling a set of pristine 28P Bravos labbed by Bblades for a 31SS with 496HO's. I'm always looking for more speed, so I just bought a set of Herings to try this coming season. I already have two sets of labbed Bravos and one has to go. I saw a best of 76 MPH with these props, but usually ran in the 75's.

My 2007 31 (496 HO) has 26P's stock and I am seeing 72 - 73 MPH at 5000 RPM, could I expect similar numbers with your 28P's ? If so SOLD.

Steve, I can't say for sure what speed you'll see. But, I think you would gain something.

When I first bought my boat, it also had stock 26's. However, it was all over the 5150 rev limiter and only ran 72. Your RPMs seem low. You may want to check the drive alignment. My drives were toed-in quite a bit which slowed the boat. I now run them completely parallel. If you have A/C, you probably have a clamshell pickup under the boat. Turn it so the grate faces backwards. I also recommend using Amsoil gear oil. If you any hull scratches, get them re-gelcoated. Finally, keep all unneccessary weight out of the boat. All these little things add up.

After making some of the above changes, my boat could spin stock 28's to 4900 RPM @ 74 MPH. The labbed props added up to another 2 MPH in optimal conditions.

I've got $1650 in these props, but I'll sell to a fellow Sonic owner for $875 shipped.

Yes, there's no reason to face the grate forward and cause drag. A/C is used while sitting still at the dock. IMO, they should have installed the cooling pickup on the transom.

Dan:
Did you run the Herring's yet? I am curious to see how they performed?
Hope all is well with you!
