I think I found the problem , hook in boat inner chines have 3/16" hook 18-24" foward from the transom

It depends which way the props are turning. You want 1/8" opposite the push of the props.

That is probably it, glad you found it.

I changed the props to spin in. It's much better and I picked up 3-4 mph. I still think bow is too low

Try hydromotive props. They made the 1995 35 SS that I had pop up more on top of the water and feel more nimble. I ran 24P Hydros with my 454 Mag MPIs.

I tried props with a lot of cupping added , it didn't help 84 mph with bow really low, so I guess Monday I'll be sanding out the hook

I finished removing the hook, it wasn't too bad to do.
I also found that the foam in the hull is water logged.

I removed all the foam from the v berth through 3 deck plates and cut out the cabin floor to remove foam. Total of 300 lbs of wet foam removed .

I'm going to run the boat on sat , I hope these things get the bow to carry

I lost 5 mph
I took the hook out of the bottom and boat is slower

GO4BROKE 07-15-2012 08:03 PM

Does it still bury the bow?

billy boats 07-15-2012 08:20 PM

No it doesn't burry the bow and longer , but it's strange that the boat feels like its lighter in the bow and reacts to trim better but 5 mph slower on gps. I tried the same props spinning the same way that I got 84 mph now I only get 78.8. Only difference is now I'm 100 rpm lower
I tried spinning props out again but there was no change
