85 MPH Prowler on e-bay......

only $30K. From what I've read about these boats, he's within 20 MPH's of telling the truth on speed ;)
Always liked that model though and it looks nice but clearly buyer beware.

From first hand experience I bet the boat doesn't do 65 mph!

U4ICK 08-19-2013 08:36 AM

Dittos on smoking some good sh*t. I just upgarded my Prowler 502 and can just get to 65 MPH GPS. I think a blow'n 525 can only get to somewhere between 72 to 78 MPH.

The only way that thing could even hit 80 with that set up is if he has done some really good bottom work and move that drive up 6" or 7". and im sure thats not the case lol!

Twin O/B Sonic 08-19-2013 03:23 PM

Isn't that about $15K less than they go for too? Probably another car lot trying to flip something they have no clue about or a hurricane boat.

Someone should offer to write him a check if it shows 85 on a GPS, that we'll provide ;)

sonicss42 08-19-2013 04:01 PM

Headliner loose also. That job is a biotch. Ask me how I know.

No, I sold mine in july 2011. It was a 2001 496 ho with 290 hours. Mint 27k

Noise Pollution 08-22-2013 08:47 PM

dsmawd350 01-13-2014 03:29 PM

Guy selling one now claims 81 on GPS with a pro charged stock 502 mag efi. Sounds like he's full of it?

Noise Pollution 01-14-2014 06:51 PM

He claims motor makes 650 hp. Running 6 MPH faster than me... Don't see how!!!!!

dsmawd350 01-15-2014 01:46 PM

Prowler, Pete ? I think we've spoke on the phone a couple years ago. What prop are running? I just put a new motor in. Around 700hp. I've Seen 75mph so far. Haven really rung it out yet.

Prowler 05-30-2014 02:38 PM

That was with the 28 mercury labbed bravo one. That prop was awesome, but it came to a untimely end at the launch on low tide. So now I just have a straight 30 bravo one, which needs to be labbed at some point, since its a dog. My wife got cancer so we don't really use the boat much anymore, prob. about a handful of times in the past four - five years, it hasn't even been pulled out of the garage for over a year. I haven't even been on this site in a long time, but saw this post when I was checking for a cheap labbed bravo 30 rather than sending mine out, (just in case we use the boat this year..:o ) and had to comment, I have done 85 mph in my Prowler, but if you look close you can see how tight my grip is on the wheel...LOL. You should be getting up there with that hp!!

Noise Pollution 05-30-2014 08:56 PM

Sorry to hear about your wife. Hope things get better. Thanks for the info. I get this thing dialed in I should be close to 80. My biggest goal was to cruise 50-55 without running wot. Lol.

All my best to your wife.
My GF just spent the last 2 years beating breast cancer.
She's a trooper and has done her best to not miss much boating.

Thanks, she's hanging in there. My cruise speed is that exactly. My bro in his 25 Baja Outlaw has to almost run flat out to cruise with me. To get up to 85 in my boat I would have to play with the trim a lot, boat is a little scary at that speed, 75 is fine, but once you get over that the bow starts to feel real lite because there is not much boat in the water.

Brian hope your girlfriend is doing well now. It sucked to hear the Dr. say "extremely aggressive rapidly spreading cancer that we have to through everything we got at " five operations later, chemo and radiation, she don't let nothing hold her back, except the sun. She could not even be in the sun for a full year after rads, or she could get third degree burns. Being in the sun and heat makes her feel sick, she gets overheated quickly probably from her body not having hormones and she forced into menopause at 40 yrs. old. She loved the sun before, so now I need to find a nice looking bimini top. She is a trooper to, she can't take pain meds at all so she went through five operations, two major, without pain meds. But she rode her horses three weeks after her mastectomy with drain tubes hanging out her side pinned to her shirt.. too much info.. lol She wishes your girlfriend the best and hopes your girlfriend is doing well... cancer sucks!!
