Wondering whats my Prowler worth?

4 Attachment(s)
Hello all, this is going to sound crazy but oh well. I JUST got my boat done a month ago and been in it now 2 times total , after working on it for 2 years and 8 months and spending WAY TOO MUCH. It's nice and has BLING, but the wife don't like it and the kids want to go fishing. So what the beep can I do, all the hard labor and money all for nothing. I'm trying to come up with a good price, but everywhere I look the prices are all over the place, so I'm only asking what everyone thinks. This was my first performance boat and I guess it will be my last. Here is what it is:

1998 Sonic Prowler
New 489 BBC, everything in the motor is NEW
Like NEW Gen 6 block (antifreeze block, not a salt water)
Scat 4340 non twist 4.25 crank
Scat 4340 Pro I beam rods with ARP
King XP rod and mains
Icon forged pistons very small dome 9.3-1 comp
ARP main studs
Mellings billet oil pump
Dura Bond cam bearings
Lunati Hyd Roller .629/.612 234/244 114
Lunati High RPM HYD rollers $600 set
Comp Cam High Tech pushrods
Comp Cam Springs
Comp Cam billet timing chain
Manley sever duty valves
Crane rollers rockers
Ported and polished heads
APR head bolts
NEW timing cover
New intake manifold
Aftermarket valve covers
NEW marine Holley 850
New water pump
NEW hoses
NEW Eddie Marine manifolds with risers

My list can go on but I'm getting tried of typing, I think you get the point, I didn't spare to much on anything, I have all the receipts for close to $12k in just motor stuff alone. Every time I think of it I want to PUKE.
I've TOTALLY redone the engine compartment, I even changed motor mount style to offshore style.
Did the hatch with electric rams and put mirror under.
Hardin Marine seawater strainer with all stainless fittings.

Trailer is a like new 2009 LoadRite aluminum trailer, tires are like new and I put NEW 4 wheel stainless Kodiac disc brakes on it, with NEW idler hubs and bearings and seals. So far I've traveled about 30 miles with it.
Boat has new gimbal housing, last owner said it was a new outdrive, me I've only put maybe 4 hours on it with my 2 trips.
New Dana exhaust tips. ON and ON this is just the highlights I can think of, not the whole project, look at the pic's and tell me what you think?????

Thanks

X2 on scrap the wife. Keep it, why take the loss? You can fish off it. There was a guy here (hypersonic) with a 31SS with a fighting chair that mounted on the engine hatch.

Nice touch with the purple trim around the hatch mirror.

wow sweet sonic I looked at these a few years back. You should take it out more and maybe then she will start to like it. My wife likes it fast and loud but now she wants to go faster. So i'm screwed and out of Money. But i'm sure your boat would be in the High 20's low 30's?? I could be wrong but it's a very VERY clean boat. I vote KEEP IT

I would have nightmares of my kids getting hooks caught in the seats or fish poop on anything. Plus I would have always 4-5 people trying to fish, not good. I think I'm just going to have take it in the shorts. I already know I'm going to lose either way. :lolhit:

Not sure how old your kids are, but get a couple of kayaks and keep the Sonic. Test drive a smaller flat bottom boat with the wife and hit a couple of wakes, she will love the Sonic. My wife "hates" ours because it is loud and obnoxious, but every time we get into rough water I can see her smile (we used to have a malibu and it beat the snot out of us). I love to fish with Kayaks, you can get into any area, tie them together to tow or get doubles. Good bonding time too!

Ah, this made me laugh...my wife is the same way and actually talked me into the performance boat scene. She wanted faster, so I upgraded from a 38 Baja Special, to a new 288 Sunsation ----- now it's "this is kinda smaller than our last one"; I reply: yeah, but "It's Faster than the First" (hence our boat name).

Back on topic - Sweet Sonic. I'm trying to get my buddy to leave his cuddy cabin and get into something he can keep up with me in...I'll keep a look out if this Sonic goe sup for sale. Very nice looking boat.
